R & B Insurance and Tax Solutions, LLC was established in January 2008, by Jarvis "Robin" Barnes, out of a small room attached to her home from a vision to meet the needs of the community. Over the next several years, R & B was only preparing taxes during tax season. It wasn't until the Affordable Healthcare Act, mostly known as "Obamacare", was fully implemented in 2015, that the insurance aspect of the business was implemented. This act required reconciliation on tax returns of subsidies premiums therefore, it only made sense to offer people health insurance through the tax office, especially with the owner being a licensed life/health insurance agent as well as a registered tax preparer.
